The Internet promises to revolutionize the world around us. It gives us never before seen access to information and opportunities. As a practicing Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine and co-founder of this company, I have seen the impact of the Internet already. Patients are researching their illnesses and becoming much more savvy and informed consumers of medical services. I encourage my patients to utilize the Web because knowledge is power. I have also seen the weaknesses of the Web. Started only years ago, it has grown at an astonishing rate. Like most rapidly expanding entities, its growth has not necessarily been organized. Much of what brings us to the Web is scattered about and sometimes difficult to find.
The chronically ill seem to have been especially underserved on the Web and in society. As a doctor and family member dealing with chronically ill, this lack of service for such a large segment of our population began to stand out. I, along with my sister, founded this company to provide a full service site for those with chronic illnesses and those who care for the chronically ill. We offer an extensive selection of health care products, and we are insurance friendly. We want to create an online family with you.
This section of our site will be dedicated to topical and informative newsletters on diverse health subjects by experts in their fields. Shortly, we hope to take this to live interactive sessions. We will have links for further information for those who want more. I would really like to hear from you about what you want to see in this column. I want to keep this informative, but fun.
